The Autumn Faery

Take one 8 year old with a passion for Faeries, a Mum and Grandmother who sew and embroider and the result is... well take a look for yourself...

I have had enormous fun creating this design and plan to bring out an embroidered version for each season. However the plain coat is available in various colours with or without wing holes in the back.

The Fae have enchanted and delighted generations, from fairy tales to magikal workings the Fae have a natural ability to charm us with their playful ways or annoy us with their key hiding but whatever your connection with the Fae or however you choose to work with them there can be no denying they are wonderfully magikal beings.

When I decided to start this project one thing was clear in my mind, I wanted to create more organic Faery couture. Fluffy and flouncy are everywhere, I wanted different for both adults and children to celebrate our little friends, something practical ... something WARM!

Although shown here is the child's version, big Faeries do not despair as it is also available in adult sizes.

The coat is made from moleskin which is wonderfully soft yet durable. While the coat is unlined all seams are over-locked to give an overall neat appearance. The long bell sleeves however are fully lined with a luxurious gold satin and can be worn turned back for an added bit of flash.

The coat is constructed of 5 panels which gives it a dramatic fluted effect from the waist

The embroidery I choose to keep simple yet effective with an oak and rowan leaf joined by an acorn in stunning autumnal colours.

The back of the coat also has two small holes through which Faery wings can be worn. They are edged in a matching colour cotton so when wearing them without wings the holes are barely noticeable.

The coat can be supplied without wing holes if desired.

Here you can see the truly sumptuous fabric of the coat. It is especially good for those slightly cooler Faery fun days.

The coat is available in, Rust (shown), Moss Green, Dusty Blue, Turquoise, Emerald, Red, Black, White, Brown & French Blue and is made with a complementary satin for the sleeve lining.
